Welcome to the 2007-2008 Rocky Bowl

From Co-Commissioners Rocky, Doug & Jim --

Welcome the the 7th Annual Rocky Bowl. We hope to find all of our Rocky Bowlers in good health and ready to once again try and be"The King Rocky Bowler". A few things may be different this year, you will electronically email your entry back to this rockybowl2008@comcast.net and you will GET YOUR MONEY IN ON TIME.

If you have not filled out your entry form, send your money anyway cause email travels faster then our US Postal. (Sorry Pistol Packing Postal Guy).

This Blogsite will be used to post updated standings and host a forum for you to banter, bitch, and brag (Gary Long seams to do all of those very well). Do not forget that Gary is the reigning 2 time champion of the Half way trophy, the Bobby Breeze award.

In the Commissioners attempt to encourage more blog activity this year, we eliminated passwords and created links to post comments, I hope this is the case, please blog us all with your witt and humor.

Remember , the current leader wears the yellow jersey at the Rocky Bowl Party. The leader at the end of the night takes the Bobby Breeze award in honor of The Top Rocky Bowler of all time, the late Bobbi Gregory.

We still have some unfinished business from last year, we need to present the towel bowl award to Good Neighbor Ali. Should we trash him for never picking it up? Lets pass the buck since I never delivered it to him.

Prizes this year:
1st Place
2nd Place
3rd Place

Additional prize slot maybe added as the number of participants grows.

A measily $20 entry fee is required. To help with costs everyone will be supporting the Rocky Bowl Party if you come or not by donating up to $2.00 of your entry fee to the party. The party is scheduled to begin at 4pm on Friday December 28th and will continue until after the Bobby Breeze award is determined. Food will be served, but you will bring your own drink!

To invite someone who has not participated before please forward their name and email address to us and we will forward a copy of the entry form and place them on the mailing list.

We hope once again you all enjoy the football bowls season a little more with "The Rocky Bowl".

Happy Holidays,

Rocky "The Good Loookin" Long, Doug "Duke Daddy" Gregory and Jim "TopCoug" Stafford

Let the Games Begin!!!!

What Rocky is really trying to say here is.......now that he is back from Belgium where he was sampling illegal drugs, drinking too much and learning how to sell carpets (how do you train a 60yr old dog?), he wants you all to start preparing your Rocky Bowl Selection sheets(attached below). Spend some time with these this year as we DO NOT want Cousin Gary winning this damn thing again. We have limited the number of participants this year and we will not allow family Pet's either......SIS.......so get your wallets and liver's ready for a fun Bowl Season. I'm already hearing from some of you that you have this thing figured out........and didn't the BCS say the same thing!!!!

We will have our Yellow Jersey 1/2 way celebration party again and hope to have Brother Kurt come visit us this year from Walla Walla. Maybe he will even bring a couple of cases of that fine RULO wine that our group could sample. Wait....Laura has those cases in her garage but it would be nice to see Kurt anyways.

And to you Buckeye fans out there.......keep it down as you were lucky to get out of Husky Stadium with that victory this year. Would have been nice if our defensive backs showed up for that game but that's another issue for another time. Big Blue....you have nothing to pop off about this year so keep your trap shut. Appalachian State....are you kidding me!!!!

Brother Scott.....get off your Kansas ass this year and show up for the party. We always need a good attorney around the fire pit to talk about....getting tired of bashing those damn Cougars all the time.

In the name of my late Mother.......may each of you enjoy a Bobbie Breeze with me at Rocky's House soon.

Great time of the Year!

Glad to see some of those bugs fixed... somehow, last year, most of my winning picks ended up losing. I really can't explain it... I *did* pick winners... honest... but the spreadsheet somehow consistently declared the losing team. Whas 'sup wit dat?

You guys take PayPal? Credit Cards okay?

Are we allowing "family" members to play... my 4 year old daughter wants a piece of the action. Just this morning she asked me, "What's the Juice on the Rocky Bowl?" She's so cute.

Here... for Schlicker (Wino)... let me do the "research" for you... uh... Kurt, that "-7" for Utah means that they expect Utah to *win*... Not that Navy will beat them by 7 points...

Best of Luck everyone... (truthfully, I really don't mean that. I hope you all pick losers!)

Let the Games begin, just received the first entry form and boy is Ray Rim Shot Eppley in for a sad year. He was even having trouble hitting the score sheet more less then getting any of the games picked correctly. Now lets see how long it takes to get his money in.

"My goal is to climb out of the bottom five this year..." A life long dream of Roby's

You need to get over your Nebraska “team envy”, get into the holiday spirit, and back the Buckeyes over a bunch of welfare-sucking goobers from Louisiana.

I have recruited 2 new players to guarantee I won't end up in last place. After all, I'm sure I can beat my 8 year old son and 11 year old daughter. This means the Potts family is in for $60.

Doug, I still work at MultiAd so that's 1/2 my weekly pay.

Go Bucks!
